Awards: Bharat Ratna & Padma Awards

 AWARDS Bharat Ratna: Highest Civilian Award In 1954, the Government of India introduced two prestigious civilian awards: the Bharat Ratna and the Padma Vibhushan. Initially, the Padma Vibhushan was divided into three categories: Pahela Varg, Dusra Varg, and Tisra Varg. However, on January 8, 1955, a Presidential Notification announced the renaming of these categories to Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri respectively.  The Bharat Ratna is India's most prestigious civilian honor bestowed for outstanding achievements or services in any area of human activity. Unlike the Padma Awards, it holds a unique and distinct status. The Prime Minister submits the nominations for the Bharat Ratna to the President of India, although no formal nominations are mandatory.
